Students not currently enrolled at the University of Maryland should apply through the CBCB summer internship program. International students, even if self funded, are not usually accepted.
Students enrolled at the University of Maryland can contact me directly. Note, however, that I do not work in graphics or machine learning or statistics. The internship program mentioned above is also open to UMD students.
If you are interested in doing research for credit, you can sign up for CMSC499A - research with professorial faculty. Please contact me before filling out the form.
I am affiliated with three graduate programs at the University of Maryland: Computer Science, Applied Mathematics & Statistics, and Scientific Computation, and Biological Sciences. If you are not already admitted in one of these programs, please do not contact me directly. The admissions decisions are made by a faculty committee and I have no say into the admission process.
If you are already in one of these graduate programs, please note that I do not do research in machine learning or statistics or graphics, even though some of my research may use tools from these fields. Please carefully read all the information provided on my lab website prior to contacting me in order to decide whether my lab is a good fit for you.
The primary way to reach me is by email. I almost never pick up the phone and I infrequently check voice messages. If you send me an email and I do not respond within 3-4 days, I have likely lost your message. Please resend.
